Our business development programme includes recruitment for the following vacancies:

General Labourer

Role Purpose

Based out of our Barcaldine facility which is close to Oban, we are looking for candidates who will assist in all general labouring work to help in maintaining the smooth running of site operations and production by supporting the Production staff and site fabricators within our own facilities and installations of our products to our customer’s sites.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience with the workshop and outdoor construction environment.
  • Small tools and Plant experience.
  • Good organisation.
  • Tidy working.
  • Flexible / adaptive.
  • Full driving licence.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in the Aquaculture industry.
  • Forklift certificate.

In return for working a 40 hour week, Fusion Marine offers a competitive salary, overtime, staff discount and a contributory pension scheme. The salary offered will reflect the experience and knowledge that the candidate can bring to this excellent opportunity but will be in the range of £7.50 -£9 per hour with the potential to increase further with the completion of in-house training.

Site Fabricators

Role Purpose

Based out of our Barcaldine facility which is close to Oban, we are looking for candidates who will be responsible for ensuring our high standard of workmanship and customer service is maintained at all times by ensuring accuracy in cutting and preparation of pipe fabrication and fish cage assembly work within our own facilities and installations of our products to our customer’s sites.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience with the workshop and outdoor construction environment.
  • Good organisation skills.
  • Tidy working and housekeeping.
  • Flexible / adaptive.
  • Working away from home for up to 3 weeks.
  • Experience in team working.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Forklift truck experience.
  • Health and safety training.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in the Aquaculture industry.
  • Forklift certificate.
  • Plastic pipe welding or fabrication experience.

In return for working a 40 hour week, Fusion Marine offers a competitive salary, overtime, staff discount and a contributory pension scheme. The salary offered will reflect the experience and knowledge that the candidate can bring to this excellent opportunity but will be in the range of £9 -£10 per hour with the potential to increase to £12 per hour with completion of in-house training.

Engineer

Role Purpose

We are looking for a candidate who is highly skilled, fully motivated and wishes to join a growing team with a  desire to succeed.Based out of our Barcaldine facility close to Oban, the company is searching for a candidate who can;

  • Manage all equipment and plant and site vehicles.
  • Perform the repair, on-site if appropriate, to quality standards, or arrange for return to Hire & Repair Contractor.
  • Provide technical support externally or internally; prepare equipment for site purposes and check operators for equipment competence and safety awareness. All factory & site plant/tooling.
  • Complete all records in accordance with policies, systems and procedures.
  • Maintain stock levels of spares and ensure that test equipment, etc is calibrated in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Comply with Health and Safety policy and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Suggest improvements to equipment, depot policies, systems and working practices as part of a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Competent in butt fusion, electrofusion and extrusion welding, cut and prepare pipe for fabrication, manufacture and weld fabrications in accordance with technical drawings with minimal supervision to the required standard. Full training will be given.
  • To maintain at all times a high level of housekeeping and report any problem areas to your line manager.  To support and assist the company in all areas of development and customer service.
  • To carry out any additional duties including forklift truck operation, operation of general machinery, cleaning, packing and despatch duties and any other duties as requested by your line manager

Essential Criteria:

  • An Engineering background.
  • An electrical and/or mechanical background.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical installations, maintenance and fault-finding systems is essential.
  • Driving Licence is essential.
  • A working knowledge of the Health and Safety legislation and best practice.
  • Experience of working with Quality Management Systems.
  • Reliability in terms of time management is core to all aspect of this job.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • A strong work ethic, with good time keeping and minimal absence.
  • A flexible can-do attitude and the ability to be a team player is necessary.

Technical Sales Manager

Role Purpose

Based at their Malin House offices in Dunbeg, the company is searching for a candidate who can;

  • Respond to and support customer enquiries, quotes and customer orders.
  • Identify customer needs and specify product and material to be supplied.
  • Prepare costings and technical specifications in the supply of aquaculture pens and related equipment, fresh-water hatchery requirements and other company systems and products as our customers require.
  • Co-ordinate and enter sales orders/work instructions onto our system, and liaise with customers and our internal production manager as regards to deliveries.
  • Be responsible for representing the company to customers and supporting sales plans, and budgets.

Essential Criteria:

  • Technical background in the following disciplines – Engineering/Construction/Aquaculture.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Strong Technical and organisational skills.
  • High level of IT competency.
  • Full driving licence.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of Aquaculture or Marine market.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks or similar drawing packages.

Graduate Product Development Engineer

Role Purpose

This exciting new role of Graduate Product Development Engineer has been created for a candidate who is a highly skilled, fully motivated and wishes to join a growing team with a desire to succeed. Based at their Malin House offices in Dunbeg, the company is searching for a candidate who can:

  • Generate 3D models of product parts/Assemblies.
  • Convert paper-based conceptual drawings/sketches to 2D/3D CAD visuals.
  • Generate technical construction or basic layout drawings of parts and assemblies for internal and external use.
  • Manage drawing numbering, updates and revisions.
  • Liaise with production, quality and sales teams.
  • Assist in updating product user manuals for all products in line with STS.
  • Build up a technical database for all design calculations in a traceable system for Scottish Technical Standard.
  • Assist in product damage/quality investigations inc. reporting.
  • Product testing/reporting.
  • Application/generation of innovative ideas in designs.
  • Detail design work.
  • FEA simulation of parts and assemblies.
  • Assist in product literature/website updates – technical.
  • Liaise with key suppliers regarding manufacturing/technical updates to products.
  • Visit customer sites as and when necessary in relation to ongoing work.
  • Assist in Technical Presentations.

Essential Criteria:

  • Basic Draughting experience.
  • An engineering background.
  • Excellent IT Skills.
  • Organisational & people management skills.
  • Time management and strong organisational qualities are essential.
  • Ability to motivate.
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home.
  • Excellent demonstrable writing and communications skills.
  • Good initiative and ability to work under a low level of supervision.
  • Good team player.

Desirable Criteria:

  • An understanding of the marine environment.
  • Specific Project Management qualification.
  • Contract evaluation, knowledge and understanding, tender preparation particularly on NEC3 contracts.
  • Experience in coordinating contract work.
  • Engineering degree.

In return for working a 40 hour week, we are offering a salary ranging from £22,000 to £25,000 depending on the experience and knowledge of the candidate, plus staff discount and a contributory pension scheme.
